In August 2019, the University of Tsukuba made history as the first Japanese university to host
an event titled “University of Tsukuba Night: The Role of Academia in Innovation,” at the
renowned Cambridge Innovation Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a global hub for
innovation. The packed event brought together a multitude of local businesses, startups, venture
capitalists, and more. Here are some photos from the 2019 event.

　NetWorking
Following up on our discussions at the Campus-in-Campus Management Meeting held in
Tsukuba last September, we are excited to share “University of Tsukuba Night” with our
Campus-in-Campus partners. It will be an invaluable opportunity for your university-launched
startups to pitch to and network with global venture capitalists who are based in the
Cambridge and Boston areas. We would appreciate it if you could send representatives from
your promising startups to “University of Tsukuba Night 2024”.

Requested Actions
• We would like your university to recommend startups that originated from research or
initiatives within your institution.
• Please recommend up to two startups interested in participating. In case of multiple recommendations from Campus-in-Campus universities, we 　will consider the sectors or industries and make the final selection.
• Please note that travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the participants/representatives.
• Additionally, we would be delighted to welcome you or other university representatives to join this special event and engage with the vibrant 　entrepreneurial system in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

• Registration Fee: Free of charge
• Event Highlights:
