Neuroscientific Research at RUB
Neuroscientific research at RUB ranges from the molecular level to cognitive and clinical research as well as Neuroinformatics. Since August 2022, Social Neuroscience has been added. Prof. Dirk Scheele explores chronic loneliness and social isolation using experimental, neurobiological methods including hormone research. “I am interested in neurobiological mechanisms of cognitive and sensory changes in chronic loneliness and how they increase the risk for physiological and psychological disorders,” explains Prof. Scheele (Dirk.Scheele@rub.de).
