The 4th Science Photo Contest “Beauté Cachée de la Science” Closes with Award Ceremony at the French Ambassador’s Residence
Hosted by the Science and Technology Department of the French Embassy in Japan, the 4th Science Photo Contest, ” Beauté Cachée de la Science,” concluded with an awards ceremony held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the French Ambassador’s Residence.
Assistant Professor Natuko Kinoshita from the Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba received the Audience Award for her work, Plantes sympathiques.

The Audience Award, given to the image that garnered the most votes on the contest’s voting site, was awarded to Assistant Professor Natuko Kinoshita of the University of Tsukuba. Her work, Plantes sympathiques, captures for the first time the molecular-level communication between plants through scents.
In early 2025, a limited-time exhibition featuring the top 10 works from ” Beauté Cachée de la Science ” is scheduled to be held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Japan.
